A canal of the Ill between the houses of Petite France in Strasbourg

On foot

Strasbourg on foot from Petite France

From the Moulin, you can walk to anywhere in the historic centre: the cathedral is ten minutes away, the station a quarter of an hour.

01Distances

The whole centre in under fifteen minutes

The Moulin is in Petite France, on the Grande Île, the historic centre of Strasbourg and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

From the door, at a normal pace: the Ponts Couverts are 4 minutes away, place Gutenberg 7, place Kléber 8, the cathedral 10 and the station 14. No need for the tram.

02Petite France

Start with the quarter

The simplest thing is to step outside and follow the water. Around the Moulin: half-timbered houses, locks and small squares, then, to the west, the Ponts Couverts and the Vauban Dam. The city’s page on the quarter and its history.

03Towards the centre

Then head for the main squares

Heading east, the canals give way to shopping streets: the Grand’Rue, place Gutenberg, place du Château and the cathedral. The city’s map of the centre helps you find your way.

04Without a car

A stay without a car

The Moulin is in a pedestrian zone: you can’t park outside. If you come by car, the Centre historique Petite France car park on rue de Molsheim is 900 m away (flat rate €15 for 24 hours). After that, you can do everything on foot. Other car parks and park-and-ride sites are listed on strasbourg.eu.
